About Andres Bardill
Born in 1964, I grew up in Tenna in the Safiental and have lived in the Prättigau - in Pragg-Jenaz - now with my wife from the Unterengadin and my three sons since the age of 10. I started my career in forestry, where I went through all stages of training to become a forester. During my 15 years in forestry, I worked primarily as an independent contractor and as a mountain guide. In addition to timber harvesting and timber transportation work with cable cranes, we were also involved in temporary avalanche and torrent shoring. In 1994, I switched to full-time mountain guiding and a few years later joined the army in this role. This was followed by postgraduate studies to become a professional infantry officer. Since 2005, I have been able to build up and help shape Alpine Rescue Switzerland as Managing Director from its foundation to the present day.
